Assignment

(1) Practice "reeling yourself in" to your puppy while she's on a leash. Repeat at least 5 times, or until you are confident that you can reel yourself in without making your puppy move.

Watch your puppy's feet! If he is being forced to walk toward you, even a little bit, it means you are pulling your puppy toward you. Remember, reeling yourself in means you are walking yourself toward your puppy without allowing your puppy to move further away.

(2) Practice having your puppy follow you while on-leash using only your body language.
